15 minutes of war ; The MAS FR F1 Sniper Rifle - 7.5mm

The MAS FR F1 Sniper Rifle - 7.5mm

I recently watched the flick "15 minutes of war". Its a decent movie and worth a watch for any of you old Africa hands. It is freely based on real events known at the Prise d'otages de Loyada.
In February 1976 in Djibouti, a school bus was taken hostage at the Somali border. The GIGN is sent on the spot, where after 30 hours of tension a rescue operation is organized. The cool part for me is that the French Spec ops Gendarmerie were using what looks like a MAS FR F1 Sniper Rifle - 7.5mm . I had the opportunity to qualify with this rifle back in the late 70s while working with the French army and attending the #4 commando school. I liked the weapon, as well as the MAS 49/56 and other French weapons in use back in those days.

15 minutes of war is a decent flick but I didnt have subtitles so it taxed my french speaking ability to th Max. Highly recommended by Tomahawk.
