Discovery Channel pettiness

Ok, A friend was looking at the Dude You're Screwed page on Face Book. He informed me that with the exception of group photos, I have been completely deleted from the page. And, they have apparently deleted my bio from the discovery channel DYS website. - http://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/dude-youre-screwed/bios/

I decided to take a look for myself and discovered he was correct ,With one notable exception. A comment by Jerry Foshee on face Book . Thanks for the props bro, much appreciated.

I apparently touched a nerve with my honesty and opinions, For the network Fags at dick-scovery to intentionally try to further remove me from being on the show. What truly amazes me about this move by DC is that they still feature 2 individuals who were fired because they lied bout their credentials and experiences to be on Dual survival ,and 1 guy who was fired for an argument. But, me? I was deleted from the show I did as much as possible because I simply spoke the truth and asked questions.

It truly makes me wonder about the sanity of the people running this network. If lying, dishonesty, contrived drama, and ignorance are normal to these people.  That, is a scary thought. What is worse, the viewing audience is encouraged to believe the complete bull shit they put out.

Their pettiness and immaturity and lack of respect for anyone who has values, real skills and experience, never ceases to surprise me.

Jerry Foshees comment:

Discovery channel Needs to re-think on Thomas. No matter what/who is added... you're still down a big step. Once in a while on a TV show, any TV show, you find someone with 'it'. Someone a little mysterious, yet seems to know the secrets of the universe somehow.
Someone who you are wanting to see more of.

Thomas D Moore was that guy! Terry I was familiar with. He's SF, & has been seen in quite a few things & I've always liked him. John (the Brit) I had heard a lot about, and his survival skill/trng. Jake is a straight up character, and if you weren't curious enough about him after 'Top Shot' I've got to wonder about you.

And Matt. Whoever not only runs like that, but seems to WANT to... Man o' man. But Tomahawk Tom. Season 2 without Tom makes ZERO sense. Period. I don't know what led up to this decision, but someone wasn't apparently aware of what a resource they had with him.
Sorry if this is a bit of a rant.

But that's how much I do NOT understand this move. Everyone on Season 1 has my respect. Everyone I know on the other hand, wants Tom back.

Maxpedition rolly polly pack

I picked up a Maxpedition rolly polly pack in a trade and decided to try it out. I kept cramming gear into it over a 2 week period when I was out and about in the woods or desert. I noticed the straps are a bit narrow for any type of heavy load. But this pack is perfect as an emergency pack  - which, im assuming it was designed for.

I did a bag dump and was surprised at the ammount of gear i had stuffed in it.

Books read by Tomahawk last month

Man! I love to read, I had plenty of time when I was off grid to do some serious reading. I actually miss the act of reading a hard copy of a good book. Sitting under a shade tree with a good book was, for me, a great way to kill off a summer afternoon.

Check out the titles in the pictures, you might like them also,

Grady and Bill - Dual survival

I just watched episode 1 and 2 of season 7 of dual survival. Grady? he seems awiite. his lingo, countenance and attitude are on par with mine.it must be an Airborne Infantry thing. Id have a brew or 2 with him.  Bill? to me, he is a typical 1/2 wit hippy type that ,I would leave behind in second in a real world situation. His overly sensitive / crying reaction to making a fire is annoying and femmy as fuck. Im not a Matt Graham fan but the network should have kept him instead of hiring this oddball.

5 reasons to carry Whisky in your pack by "The outbound collective"

I totally agree with this article on the page "The outbound collective". I have used whisky or other types of spirits in all of the applications mentioned in the story text. In fact I often "issue" myself a Gil of whisky (or 2) per day on long treks. The gil is a unit of measurement for volume equal to a quarter of a pint. And was the standard issue ration for whisky or other spirits in the US Army for many years.

This article brought back some memories for sure, but one that sticks out is when Many years ago, while camped for the winter on the family farm in central Illinois, there was a severe cold spell. Me and my dog Hunter were next to the roaring wood stove inside my sheep herders tent, which I had set up in a "holler".The temps were around zero or in the negative digets and much colder in the wind.  I heard a truck pull up and it was My nephew. He showed up with a bottle of Crown Royal, now keep in mind how cold it was. He sat the booze on the chopping block, and came inside the tent to warm up. We sat around for quite a while and forgot about the whisky. Anyway, long story short, we eventually remembered the booze and went out side in the sub zero temps and cracked open the bottle. I can still remember that long pull on the whisky bottle at -7 F. It was cold and smooth as silk going down. We stood there in the dark and cold, staring at the clear sky and the stars. sharing that bottle of booze. It is a good memory for both of us.

Check out the article at the link I have provided. Im sure you can find a few good reasons to pack along you favorite libation on your next wilderness trek .

THE ADVENTURERS - by MAY BYRON

Heres to you Adventurers!

THE ADVENTURERS - by MAY BYRON

They sit at home and they dream and dally, Raking the embers of long dead years -
But ye go down to the haunted valley, Light hearted pioneers.

They have forgotten they were ever young, they hear your songs as an unknown tongue, but the flame of God through your spirit stirs, Adventurers - Oh Adventurers!

They tithe their herbs and they count their tally, choosing their words that a phrase may live - but ye cast down in the hungry valley all that a man can give.

They prophesy smoothly, with a weary smile fulfilling their feeble appointed while, but death himself to your pride defers,

Adventurers Oh Adventurers!
