Cambodia - "Food Glorious food!"

My lady friend and me like to check out the numerous food vendors and street foods in Phnom Penh and elsewhere in Cambodia ( And all of SE Asia for that matter). One of out favorite spots is the FCC or foreign correspondents club, (in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap). The FCC can be a bit pricey but the food and service are excellent.. We also enjoy the fresh sea foods brought up from Kep daily, actually, the list goes on. I will post a few pictures for your gastronomic curiosity.

Roasting chestnuts Thai style

Mae Sai, Thailand - Roasting chestnuts Thai style. I love these things, you can purchase a kilo of hot fresh roasted Chestnuts on the street for about 2 bucks. The dense nuts are slow roasted in electric woks filled with gravel, then stirred with a paddle to ensure even roasting. A decent tasty treat.

Beef and Noodles at Taoyuan airport - Taipei

After the long flight from LAX I look forward to a great meal of beef and  noodles at the Taipei Airport. Combined with a beer and some tea it is a great way to re-hydrate  - Kinda like Mexican menudo on a sunday morning after a night of binge drinking -

Taiwan Taoyuan Airport is the largest airport of Taiwan. The top ten busiest international routes from Taoyuan Airport in 2015 were: Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka, Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul Macau, Los Angeles and Ho Chi Minh City.

The passenger traffic in Taiwan Taoyuan airport has grown a lot during last years. In 2015 it handled more than 38 million passengers being the 11 busiest airport worldwide in terms of passengers traffic.

Camp red in Cebu

I stopped by Cebu to visit my good friends at the Camp Red bushcraft and survival guild. It was good to get out in the forest and practice some jungle skills and eat some decent foods cooked up my Ernie Solomon - master wilderness chef D-lux.

Bun Bo Hue, a soup that starts with pork and beef bones, gets a kick from lemongrass, annatto and shrimp paste, and finishes the job with a tangle of herbs, a squeeze of lime and a few delicious add-ons like sliced brisket, crab balls and, in some cases, cubes of congealed pig’s blood.
